Shawanda Johnson better known as Spyda, is a Songwriter, Singer, Dancer and Choreographer, and has been an ASCAP member since 2002.
Her accomplishments have rendered her a living legend in her community and surrounding areas as an all around entertainer.
This was the beginning of her performing years when she began modeling classes, acting roles, and learning the different styles of dance such as modern, jazz, and hip hop.
Shawanda joined a non-profit organization in 1995 with the founder Bridget Hanson.
She first met her by performing in her first annual talent show in the Lucas county Metropolitan housing authority in which Shawanda and the other ladies lived in, Lashara Morris and Ivory Hernandez calling their group “Somn Special” and winning first place and never stopping from there.
She is also a Hip Hop Instructor for over the past 15 years, a Certified Fitness Instructor for 8 years, and a 5 year advisor for the Black student union as well as dance team coach for Owens Community College.
She has shown that education and giving back to her community is first by graduating from College and receiving an Associate in Criminal Justice as well as a Bachelors in Justice Administration from Tiffin University.
Shawanda is also coaching at the local middle schools as well as instructing dance at her own studio currently ; F.A.M.E.D. STUDIOS in Toledo,OH, as well as hosting her annual events such as Diabetes awareness fashion show and citywide dance competition and monthly dance battles!!
Spyda has collaborated with professional photographers, film directors and production companies for future projects, so anticipate her on the big screens as well as hearing her sultry and pop r&b voice on the radio and cd’s when her album drops along with her NEW video of the summer banger “Runaway.”

She is currently working on her debut album, “This is me”.
Songs will describe her personality, lifestyle and everyday issues such as “Paper Chase” which is her first single that dropped July 2012.
