Ray Wilson is proud to announce the release of his sophomore album ‘Coming Through In Waves’.
Singer, songwriter and instrumentalist Ray Wilson, a rebel in the Americana music world has released a ten song album of previously unrecorded original music.
Ranging from Country and Southern Rock to Reggae and Jazz the album is full of uniqueness but never leaves the listener feeling like they may have stumbled upon a compilation album.
“I decided to let each song become what it was intended to be.” Says Wilson about the diversity of musical genres. “I became the instrument and opened my mind and my heart.”
A mainstay in the Amarillo music scene these past 8 years, Ray has a previous album ‘troubadour’ to his credit which sold and streamed worldwide, most notably in Germany, Poland, France, Great Britain and Canada.
Born in Alabama, raised in Texas, Ray brings his Southern Rock & Country Music influences together as a singer/songwriter for a truly unique Americana experience.
Ray performs as both a solo act and with a backing band and is currently booking shows in Texas, New Mexico, Denver and Tennessee bringing his unique songwriting and sound to the southern American states but eventually will be performing all over America and ultimately worldwide so stay tuned and watch out world!
With roots in Alabama, Ray was introduced to music by his father, a construction worker who moonlighted as a honky-tonk musician.
After living in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, Wilson gained a wide variety of musical inspirations ranging from The Doors and The Police to Chuck Berry and The Beatles. Wilson gained experience playing bass for both a punk and a heavy metal band in the 90’s.
After pausing on his musical career for 15 years to become a successful businessman, Wilson dusted off his old guitar and made a new name for himself in both America and internationally with his wandering, “troubadour” persona and his natural, down-to-earth music. Wilson’s debut album, “Troubadour,” was released in early 2015. Wilson roams from town to town spreading his music to the masses, enjoying every moment of his dream come true.
“For the past few months I have been writing new songs and reaching out to studios in hopes that another album was in the future. More recently I found an amazing studio and engineer to begin the process. I’m beyond excited to be in the final recording stages of my second solo album. Coming Through In Waves. The title has changed a few times as the recording process moved forward but this one stuck with me for several reasons.’ Says Ray
