Kdub Hit Country was formed in February 2017. Kevin was just planning to do it as a hobby on top of his full time job. “I love music and I loved doing radio so I thought this would be a great hobby. The hobby turned full time in April.” says Kevin
What went from 1 listener a night in February to 10 listeners a night in April, sparked Kevins interest to go to Nashville and broadcast from CMA Fest 2017. “I called so many places in Nashville to try and do broadcasts but always got shot down because I was a small online radio station. Then I met Melissa Bollea, publicist and owner of Rhyme Partners in Nashville. Melissa was by far the stepping stone to what now would be one of the hottest online radio stations internationally.” says Kevin
Melissa set him up with his first remote broadcast at CMA Fest with Taylon Hope and Rion Paige (X-Factor USA). She then went on to let him use her studio to do a live radio show on Music Row the entire time, while she sent all of her artists over for an interview and an intimate one song performance. Their follower count skyrocketed from 250 to 700.
They got huge exposure by receiving their media credential for the City Of Hope Softball Tournament during CMA Fest, where they were on the field the entire pregame with all the starts such as Lauren Alaina, Danielle Bradbery, Trent Harmon, The Swon Brothers, and even legends such as Lee Greenwood and Reba McIntire.
After CMA Fest they started producing merchandise, and they now have wristbands and t-shirts, and yet again their follower count grew, at which point now we have 1971 followers, 1200+ more than 4 months ago. Big name people have stopped by for an interview and they have been able to meet a few in person and hang out with them on their bus and get an interview.
Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson (Love & Theft), Shenandoah, Restless Heart, and Michael Ray just to name a few. Some phone interviews with Maddie and Tae, Kalie Shorr, Casi Joy (The Voice), Seth Costner, and many more to come. As of now they have close to 10,000 listeners monthly and have a better sounding quality than most major market FM radio stations in their area, securing Rex on the Radio for middays (Mon-Fri 10a-5p), coming from major market radio in San Francisco (KFRC- FM), and leading the number one night show at Sacramento’s 105.1 KNCI- FM, later to be picked up by them.
“I started working in radio in 2001, interning for a radio station doing board operation, later to be given an on air weekend show and then that would end my radio career 4 years later. Until now. I currently have the most well-known show online with all of our listeners and we are pushing forward to gain more listeners and followers by playing music we know they love to hear. Classic Country, New Country, and fresh emerging artists that FM stations aren’t able to play. Artists remember us, I even have some on speed dial. I strive to be syndicated one day and heard on FM morning shows and other platforms. We take a great pride in our listeners and our music. We love country music.”says Kevin
