For two decades Michigan based singer songwriter Brian Carson has been best known as the vibrant frontman of Raggedy Ann and Sacred Silver.
But 2018 sees the rocker take a slightly different direction as he releases his debut solo album Big Dog Days.
Utilising his vast experience and network of contacts as a national recording artist, Brian has teamed up with Award winning producer Andy Reed of Reed Recording Company for the record.
Speaking of the new album he said: “Obviously I’m best known for my rock singing but with this record I wanted to inject a soulful feel to the music and Andy found a wonderful mix between the two in his production style.”
Set to be released on June 3 Big Dog Days, written by Brian, has its roots in 70s am radio rock, with the album showcasing his unique melodic lead vocalist style.
Brian’s own influences include everyone from Stevie Wonder and Chris Cornell to Jeff Scott Soto. Having been likened to rock stars such as Geoff Tate, David Coverdale and Steve Perry, Big Dog Days shows off Brian’s classic rock sound coupled with soulful undertones, emotive lyrics and powerful music.
MetalStation.org are tipping Brian for big things. In their review of the album they wrote: “The metal ballad ‘Hold On’ is amazing composition with unique sound and professional video. Brain Carson shows us his phenomenal vocal again. He turned out to be one of our favorite metal musicians.”
Meanwhile Lee Allen from Subba-cultcha.com said: “I’m listening to Brian Carson and the bands tribute song ‘Everything But Die’ I realized this song has all the elements I would want in a song like this. They have surely crafted a timeless rock classic. I can hear this song being on a soundtrack to a movie. It puts me in the mindset of Aerosmith’s ‘Don’t Want To Miss a Thing’. The words that are being sung on this record resonate with you and you immediately get an emotional attachment. Songs that grab you in this nature make a permanent add to my playlist.”
Big Dog Days will be available from June 10. For more information go to www.briancarsonrocks.com
